🚨 URGENT: Demand PCB Testing Across ALL UNC Campuses!
60+ Deaths Linked to Poe Hall—Will the UNC System Act Before More Are Harmed?
The UNC System must protect its students, faculty, and staff from toxic PCBs.
After the closure of NC State’s Poe Hall—where 600+ people have been diagnosed with PCB-related illnesses and at least 60 have died—it’s clear: every UNC campus must be tested NOW. Yet, most UNC System buildings constructed before 1980 remain untested, putting thousands at risk of cancer, organ damage, and other life-altering illnesses.
We’re demanding action:
âś… Comprehensive PCB testing in all pre-1980 UNC buildings
✅ Full transparency—public reporting of all results
âś… Immediate mitigation for contaminated spaces
âś… Direct notification for anyone exposed
This isn’t just NC State’s problem. PCB-laden buildings exist across the UNC System—your classroom, lab, or office could be next.

🔗 SHARE WIDELY—Faculty, staff, alumni, and students MUST see this!
Why this matters:
PCBs are "forever chemicals" linked to cancer, infertility, and autoimmune diseases.
Four UNC campuses (UNCA, UNCC, NC A&T, UNCP) have already tested—why hasn’t yours?
NC State still hasn’t warned exposed alumni or staff. We can’t let this happen again.
This petition will be delivered to UNC System Board of Governors Chair Wendy Floyd Murphy. With enough pressure, we can force system-wide testing before more lives are lost.
